How to Vote on Election Day

Q: When is Election Day?

A: Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Q: How can I vote?

A: You may vote in person on Election Day at your polling location, vote early in person at ONEOK Field (for 2020 elections), or absentee by mail. Oklahoma requires that you bring a valid state-issued ID (voter registration card, driver’s license, or state ID card) or military ID. Click HERE to access the Oklahoma Voter Portal.

Q: How do I register to vote or update my voter registration?

A: You must fill out a voter registration application form and applications must be received by the Election Board by 5pm on October 9, 2020 for this year’s elections. Voter registration applications are available at your County Election Board, post offices, tag agencies, libraries and many other public locations. You will be offered a voter registration application when you get your driver’s license and when you apply for assistance at some government agencies. You also may begin an application form or update your voter registration online through the State Election Board’s new Voter Portal. Visit the State Election Board for more information about registering to vote.

Vote By Mail

Q: How can I request an absentee ballot?

A: You can click HERE to request your absentee ballot online. Be sure to submit it in well in advance of the deadline to ensure it’s received on time. The Election Board must receive your request by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27th.

Q: Is everyone eligible to vote by mail?

A: YES!

To vote by mail in Oklahoma, you must apply for a ballot. This is the easiest way to never forget to vote.  Start by applying here. Applying online is fast, easy, and secure through the Oklahoma State Election Board’s website!

You can ask for any ballot you can vote on for the calendar year. Even if you have requested to vote by mail previously, you must make a new request every year. For example, if you requested to receive your ballot by mail in 2018 or 2019, you must make a new request for 2020.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the November general election is 5 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
